Original Showtime series Californication is about ladies’ man Hank Moody (David Duchovny), a dysfunctional NY writer living in amorally corrupt Los Angeles trying to escape his writers block and the categorization as a One Hit Wonder. Californication follows an unapologetic Hank immersed in his debauched lifestyle of excess (i.e. drink, drugs, women…), as he tries haphazardly to hang onto his relationships with his daughter Becca and his ex-girlfriend Karen. The underlying dark humor and Hank’s loathing for everyone is well-captured in his HELL*A Magazine Blog Number 1: Hank Hates You All!
