Rambo came to life in the 1980s in the classic action/adventure film First Blood staring Silvester Stallone. A burned-out, misunderstood Vietnam Vet, Rambo drifts through America, trying to reconnect with the country he fought for; searching for a sense of home. He inevitably becomes stereotyped as an outcast, and a chain reaction of events wakes the resilient warrior and spawns the birth of an new action hero. The Rambo movies take us on the journey of a man whose country has repeatedly quit him, yet can’t seem to live without him.

Released in 2008 the latest Rambo film – entitled Rambo – was distributed by Lionsgate. The film stars Stallone along with Dexter‘s Julie Benz. Stallone also co-wrote, produced and directed the film. It is the fourth installment of the Rambo franchise, twenty years since the last film Rambo III, and it showed the character still pertinent and the fans still rooting for him.
